HPD: Thieves load shopping cart with goods, walk out CVS without paying

HOUSTON – Two men were arrested, but one remains on the run after stealing from a CVS Pharmacy in Montrose early Thursday.

Three men walked into the store on Waugh at W. Dallas around 3 a.m., filled a shopping cart with merchandise, then walked out of the front door without paying.

A store clerk recognized the men because they had done the same thing before, and had already called 911, expecting them to do it again.

An officer arrived just as the suspects were pulling off in a white truck.

Two of the suspects were taken into custody, but one managed to run away.

HPD K-9 units searched the area, but could not locate him.

Police said the suspects did the same thing at a Randalls grocery store a day earlier. They believe they are responsible for at least a half dozen more thefts around Houston committed in the same manner.
