HOUSTON – A security guard was rushed to the hospital Friday morning after being shot by a suspect near the Montrose area, according to Houston police.
It happened at The C Store in the 1400 block of Richmond near Dunlavy around 10:30 a.m.
A security guard was making his rounds to pick up money from various ATM machines. When he arrived to The C Store, he was ambushed by three suspects. The security guard was shot in the chest area just as he was placing the money into a safe inside his car.
The suspects did not get away with any money. They fled the scene in a silver Chevy sedan. One was wearing a maroon shirt and camouflage shorts, according to sources.
The victim was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. His condition was not known.
