HOUSTON - The Houston Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in southwest Houston.

Police say an officer responded to a report of a burglary around 5 p.m. Tuesday on the 10400 block of Amblewood near Green Glade Drive when he shot the suspected burglar.

Witnesses say that the officer demanded the burglar to stop running, but he kept going. The officer then opened fire, and could have fired up to five shots.

HPD officials confirmed that an officer did discharge his weapon and hit the suspected burglar. His condition is unknown at this time.
