HOUSTON -

The search is on for the man Houston police said opened fire on a group of Walmart employees in the store's parking lot.

Houston police said a man snatched a 39-year-old woman's purse and ran out of the store on Gessner in the Spring Branch area around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials said the woman and Walmart employees then chased the suspect into the parking lot. He tried to jump a nearby fence, but when he fail, he turned around and started shooting at them.

No one was hit by the gunfire.

The suspect jumped into his light brown Chevy Silverado and drove away.

"Very scary because I live on the next block and I come here everyday, three or four times a week, so it is very scary," said Walmart customer, Neli Dominguez.

The victim describes the suspect as a Hispanic man in his twenties with very short hair, almost bald, with scratches on both sides of his face. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
