HOUSTON -

Police are on the scene of a shooting in southeast Houston.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of a strip center housing a Wing Stop and a Subway on Scott Street near Alabama. Witnesses say at around 4:30 p.m. there was a large group of teenagers -- about 20 to 25 -- were hanging around outside the restaurants when an argument ensued and a shot was fired.

A store employee says the teens were making so much noise the employee did not even hear the shot, but saw one male holding his side with blood dripping down his arm.

According to witnesses, the victim was talking with paramedics as he was loaded into an ambulance. He was transported to the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

The shooter fled the scene.

Houston police and HISD police are both on scene investigating and looking at surveillance video.
