No on else was injured in the shooting.

Maxwell has been charged with aggravated assault against a public servant.

"It's a dangerous job out here. We're very proud of the officers, the way they performed," acting police Chief Troy Finner said. "When everybody's asleep they are out here making our streets safe and I'm proud of that."

He asked for prayers for the officers and for Maxwell's family.

Jones and Ruben were place on administrative leave for at least three days, Finner said.

A special investigation unit and the district attorney's office will conduct a joint investigation into the shooting.
