Adan Carranza investigated after allegations of misconduct arise

HOUSTON – A Houston police officer has been relieved of duty while facing serious allegations.

According to Houston Police, the officer in question is being investigated for alleged criminal conduct. Source told Local 2 that the allegation involves sexual misconduct.

The officer has been identified as 32-year old Adan Carranza, a patrol officer on the city's west side.

According to a department representative, Carranza was relieved of duty Thursday and an internal affairs investigation is being conducted.

According to police sources, Carranza's patrol car was taken to be processed for evidence.

Carranza has not been charged with a crime.
