HOUSTON - Houston Police said a man had no license, no insurance and no identification when he slammed into an officer's patrol car Wednesday morning.

The man was in a Chevrolet Avalanche that turned in front of the officer on Westheimer and Post Oak around 12:15 a.m.

The officer was not able to stop in time and hit the truck, investigators said. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police took the man into custody and are checking whether he is in the country illegally.
