A Houston police officer crashed his squad car into a fence while pursuing a suspect in a undercover drug sting.

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, a man tried to buy narcotics from an undercover officer on South Post Oak in southwest Houston, according to police.

Officers said the suspect got suspicious and drove off. Officers waiting nearby took chase.

Police said an officer in pursuit, lost control on Holmes and skidded into a fence. Paramedics treated him at the scene for minor injures.

Police laid a spike strip and popped the tires of the fleeing car. Police said the suspect then jumped out the vehicle and ran off into the woods.

With the help of a K-9 unit, police found the man and arrested him.
