HOUSTON -

An overnight crash involving motorcycle running a red light led to deadly results. But the person who was not at fault still ended up in handcuffs.

Houston police say the driver of the motorcycle had just left a club, he had been drinking and plowed through a red light at the intersection of Elgin and Hamilton. But heading south on Hamilton was a woman driving a sedan.

"As he entered the intersection of Elgin and Hamilton, he ran the red light, according to what witnesses are saying at the time, he ran the red light traveling eastbound," said C. Nickerson with the Houston Police Department.

Police say the motorcyclist was thrown several feet from the bike. He was at fault, according to police.

As the investigation continued, crime scene investigators say they found a crack pipe in the woman's sedan and arrested her for possession of drug paraphernalia. She now faces charges in connection to what was found in her car, but no charges in connection with the crash.

The name of the man who was killed in the overnight crash will not be released until an autopsy is completed.

Police say speed was not a factor in this crash.
