HOUSTON -

The search is on for the three men police say took off with thousands of dollars after robbing a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in north Houston.

It happened around 11 p.m. at the restaurant on the 4900 block of Airline Drive.

Officials say three men pulled up to the Popeyes that was already closed for the night.

Two men got out of the vehicle and threw a brick through a glass window, according to police.

Officials say the two men, who were wearing bandanas over their faces, went inside and held employees at gunpoint while demanding cash.

Police say the men took cash from the register and a safe that was accidently left open.

Authorities believe the men got away with thousands of dollars in cash.

No one was injured and no shots were fired during the robbery, according to police.

Houston police are now looking for a dark blue or black Dodge Charger that the men drove off in.
