HOUSTON -

A Whataburger employee is recovering from wounds after he was attacked Tuesday morning in southeast Houston, police said.

Police said a man in a mask walked into the restaurant on Fuqua Street and Park Road  just after 3 a.m.

They said he did not make any demands, but he did get into a physical fight with a Whataburger employee.

During the fight, police said the masked man cut the employee's hands with some sort of knife.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and treated for his wounds.

One witness said the masked man got away in a white sedan.

Another witness reported seeing a masked man driving on Fuqua just after the attack.

Police said they will look through surveillance video from the Whataburger to see if it can offer them clues about the identity of the violent man.
