HOUSTON - Officials said a group of suspects killed one man in a drive-by shooting in southeast Houston Tuesday evening.
Investigators said several men were hanging out in front of a house around 8 p.m. Tuesday night, when a green car drove by. Passengers in the car opened fire, and hit one of the men standing in the yard of the home on Dumore Drive at Glen Hollow Drive.
The victim, later identified as 29-year-old Louis Willest Holloway, was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police found at least 17 bullet casings in the road in front of the house.
Homicide detectives said the shooting could be retaliation for a shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon just a few blocks down the road.
Police have a suspect in custody from the earlier shooting, but do not have a known motive or suspect for the shooting on Dumore.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
