The victim, later identified as 29-year-old Louis Willest Holloway, was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police found at least 17 bullet casings in the road in front of the house.

Homicide detectives said the shooting could be retaliation for a shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon just a few blocks down the road.

Police have a suspect in custody from the earlier shooting, but do not have a known motive or suspect for the shooting on Dumore.
