HPD: Man dies after 2 leave him along freeway

HOUSTON – Police are looking for two men who flagged down an ambulance along a freeway to get treatment for a man who had been shot.

Houston police said they were called out to a shooting in the 3600 block of the South Loop West about 4:40 p.m. on Sunday.

When officers got to the scene, they said they found out that two men flagged down a Galveston EMS ambulance. The men pulled a gunshot victim out of a small sports utility vehicle and put him in the grass, investigators said.

As the paramedics treated the victim, the two men left, detectives said.

The victim, believed to be 16 to 20 years old, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died. His name has not been released.

Detailed descriptions of the men who left the victim have not been released.
