HOUSTON – A man has confessed to killing a woman whose partially nude body was found in south Houston, detectives said.
Harvey L. Davis, 53, has been charged with murder.

Houston police said Linda Spells, 53, was found dead in the back yard of a home in the 2400 block of Francis near Dowling on Saturday.
Spells had been strangled, investigators said.
Police said they determined that Davis had been with Spells just before she died. Investigators said they questioned Davis and he admitted to the killing.
The motive for the slaying has not been released.
