HOUSTON - A race between two Lamborghinis in the Galleria area ended in a rollover crash, according to police.
Local 2 reporter Gary Striewski came across the crash Sunday at 8 p.m. on Westheimer Road near the Galleria. Witnesses said the two Lamborghinis were speeding and racing when one crashed and flipped.
The driver of the flipped car crawled out, but the passenger, a woman, was trapped.
Striewski tried to help the trapped passenger.
"I crawled under the car to try and free the woman, but I couldn't reach her seat belt," Striewski said.
Striewski and several other witnesses helped flip the Lamborghini back into an upright position.
"When we got the car right-side up, the passenger, she was indeed conscious," Striewski said. "She was complaining to me about some serious neck pain she was suffering."
Then the engine caught fire.
"There was smoke everywhere," witness Trevor Wright said.
The woman was taken to a hospital. Houston police did not release any more information.
