HOUSTON -

Two vehicles, including a Houston police cruiser, were badly damaged after an accident in west Houston.

It happened just before 9 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Dairy Ashford and Memorial Drive.

Officials said a Houston police officer was responding to an emergency when the cruiser was hit by a Chevy Tahoe driven by a woman who failed to yield. The patrol car had its lights and siren on at the time of the crash.

Authorities said no serious injuries were reported, but both vehicles were badly damaged. The SUV also took out a left turn light.

Officials did not say if the woman was cited at the scene.
