HOUSTON – A man has been accused of killing his girlfriend and her daughter in front of his 7-year-old son.
Curtis James Adams, 44, has been charged with capital murder in the deaths of Latasha Jones, 35, and her 13-year-old daughter.

Detectives said Jones and Adams got into a fight on Christmas Eve.
Investigators said Adams shot Jones and the teen at a home in the 7000 block of Jetty and then left with his son, who witnessed the killings.
Adams went to a relative's home in Missouri City and said some things that caused the relative to worry about Jones and her daughter, police said.
The relative called Jones and didn't reach her, so family members went to the home and found the bodies, investigators said.
While Adams was at the relative's home, he used a pistol to threaten a family member, officials said. Missouri City police were called out to the home and Adams was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police said they recovered that gun, but they have not said if that was the same gun used in the killings.
