Jake Anthony Espinoza, 18, is charged with murdering Luis Lara, 19 at Keith-Weiss Park in north Houston.

HOUSTON - A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting from December 2013.

It happened around 7 a.m. on Dec. 1, 2013 on the 12300 block of Aldine Westfield Road.

Jake Anthony Espinoza, 18, has been charged with murder and retaliation.

Authorities say that preliminary investigation determined that the victim Luis Lara, 19, was involved in a physical confrontation at the park with several men.

During the fight, Lara knocked down Espinoza. Espinoza then shot him multiple times, according to police.

Investigators with the Houston Police Department say that several passersby at Keith-Weiss Park saw a body. Police found several gunshot wounds on him.

Police say that further investigation revealed Espinoza as the suspect. He was arrested Monday without incident.
