HOUSTON -

Authorities are actively searching for the two armed suspects who robbed a bank in northwest Houston.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Independence Bank in the 13100 block of the Northwest Freeway.

Houston police say two men wearing masks, gloves and hoodies walked into the bank armed with guns.

Investigators said the men robbed the bank and then drove off in a black Dodge Durango before police arrived.

There were no reports of shots fired or injuries.

The building has several stories with other businesses sharing office space. Witnesses told Local 2 they went into lockdown.

"We had an employee come upstairs and say, 'the bank downstairs has been robbed. Everybody lock the doors now,'" said Brittany Dacus.

Houston police and the FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force are investigating.

The FBI said one robber is described as a black male, 20-30 years old, 130-140 pounds, 5 foot 8, with a slender to medium build.  He was wearing a black hoodie, facial covering, dark pants and dark gloves.

The second robber is described as a black male, 20-30 years old, 6 feet tall, with a medium build.  He wore a black hoodie, facial covering and black clothing.
