HOUSTON - Houstonians had the opportunity to become part of history at the Astrodome Memory Project on Saturday.
Hosted by the Houston Public Library, the event invited the public to bring their photos and other memorabilia to be scanned as part of a new online exhibit that documents the history of the Astrodome.
Dubbed the eighth wonder of the world, the Astrodome's history is a significant and important part of the city of Houston.
"Just the response that this has gotten has made it very obvious to us that it's something that ties us together," project manager Marie Wise said. "It's not just a building. It's a place where we all remember going and everybody wants to share that."
The library has created an all-encompassing archive that will live online at Astrodomememories.org.
