Houston weather: Mild temps with slight rain chances before cold front moves in

HOUSTON – Saturday will be mild with warm highs, but there is a slight chance of isolated rain. Either way, it is a preparation day as a cold front arrives by Sunday morning that will be dropping in Arctic air across Southeast Texas.

Your highs Saturday will mainly be in the mid-60s. Houston should be around 66 degrees and Galveston around 64 degrees.

We will start off with mainly clear skies. But as the day goes on, the cloud cover will increase.

For Saturday night there is a slight chance of rain ahead of the cold front. This will last through Sunday morning.

The cold air spills across the region Sunday. Highs will be in the mid-50s.

Temperatures will fall quickly Monday morning when a hard freeze warning is possible.

Lows will be in the 20s, so prepare now for the cold temperatures -- including protecting your pets,  plants and pipes, and checking in on those who are most susceptible to the cold.
