Houston residents worried about family in Sandy's path

HOUSTON – Houston residents with family and friends in the Northeast were concerned as Hurricane Sandy made landfall.

Sara Davenport's parents are in New Jersey. They live along the Delaware River, which is right in the storm's path.

Davenport spoke with her mother Monday afternoon.

"Hi mom. How's the river?" she asked.

Her mother said the boardwalk took a pounding even before Sandy made landfall.

Davenport has been through hurricanes and tried to convince her loved ones to evacuate.

"These are friends I've been urging to get out the last couple of days," she said.

But they stayed.
