HOUSTON -

Police are on the lookout for the driver of an SUV they say struck and killed a 50-year-old man.

The incident happened about 9 p.m. Tuesday at 6300 Bellfort.

Police said the 50-year-old man, Clyde B. Hadnot, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hadnot was previously seen speaking to the driver of a white SUV on Bellfort. A short time later, police said he was then seen running from the vehicle, with the driver of the SUV pursuing Hadnot at a high rate of speed.

At this time, police believe Hadnot fell and the driver of the SUV intentionally struck him while he was lying on the ground. The driver then fled the scene, according to police.

The vehicle in this incident is described only as a white SUV with a partial Texas license plate reading 82G.
