Houston Newsmakers June 26: Unrest on campaign trail, House of Representatives

Galveston Island breaking records

Hillary Clinton was on the attack against Donald Trump again. Donald Trump fired his campaign manager and also attacked Hillary Clinton. It was a week when the presumptive nominees of the two major parties gave a hint of what the next few months will likely be like. What does it mean for either candidate or their parties?  Professor Mark Jones, Fellow in Political Science at the Baker Institute at Rice University is a guest on this week’s Houston Newsmakers with Khambrel Marshall and says both candidates have work to do. “The Electoral College map has moved a little bit toward the Democratic side of the spectrum and making the hill that Donald Trump needs to climb all the greater,” he said. “The one advantage that Trump has is that Hillary Clinton is very unpopular and very polarizing.”
Professor Jones touches on several other areas including, the impact of the lack of Party support for Donald Trump, what the polls really mean, and how much the money gap between the candidates will impact the outcome and much more.
