Houston man dies after crash in Thailand

HOUSTON – A Houston family is trying to bring their loved one’s remains home, after he was killed in a tragic accident in Thailand.

Clark Shao was a popular fitness guru in the Houston area.  He and his girlfriend were on vacation in Thailand, when they got into a motorcycle accident.

“I think it was rainy and the roads were muddy and they lost control of the bike,” said Amanda Adamez, a friend of the couple.

Shao’s family immediately flew to Thailand to be at his side in the hospital. He died earlier this week, a short time after the accident.

“It was very shocking to hear,” Adamez said.

Now, friends and family are trying to raise $100,000 to bring Shao, his family members and his girlfriend back to Houston.  The money will also pay for their medical bills and for Shao's funeral expenses.

“We want our friends home. We love them. We want them home as fast as possible,” Adamez said.

So far, a GoFundMe page has raised more than $56,000.  To donate, click/tap here.
