HOUSTON – A Houston man is facing charges after an undercover investigation revealed he was allegedly making and selling fake IDs and counterfeit checks.
Michael Ryals was arrested on Tuesday after a Department of Public Safety investigation.

According to the search warrant, investigators discovered copies of 15 Texas driver's licenses and copies of several checks in his garbage, some of which were made out to The Star of Hope.
Investigators are trying to figure out how Ryals got access to the checks made out to the shelter.
Ryals is accused of fraudulent use of identifying information and tampering with a government document as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Investigators say they know of two victims so far, but they are still trying to identify others.
In a statement, The Star of Hope says it is very protective of their financial documents and maintains the highest level of security.
