On March 19, police were called to an apartment on the 1200 block of Redford Street. Morales is accused of throwing his girlfriend's Yorkie named Poochi against a door and causing it to have a seizure.

Court records say Morales bought the dog for his girlfriend about 19 months ago, and since then Morales had been abusing the dog.

Morales' girlfriend told police that Poochi urinate when it sees Morales. She also told authorities that Morales was not worried about the dog's condition after abusing it because "it was only a dog."

Court records say that Morales' girlfriend kicked him out of their apartment for his actions. He has since been allowed to return after apologizing and vowing to not abuse Poochi again. He told his girlfriend he was jealous of the dog, according to court documents.

Morales is being held on $5,000 bond.
