Houston area hit with scattered showers

HOUSTON – A heavy downpour soaked the Houston area Monday afternoon, filling low-lying spots.

At about 11:30 a.m. rain drenched drivers on the southeast side at Beltway 8 near Telephone Road.

The line moved over the Beltway near Interstate 10 on the west side.

Parts of southwest Houston at Highway 59 near Westpark Drive also had pouring conditions.

While it appears the worst of the rain is over for Monday, there are delays at flights arriving at Bush Intercontinental Airport. Some of those delays are up to two hours and 18 minutes.
