Houston-area Girls Scouts celebrate completion of new safety patch

HOUSTON – Five hundred and fifty individual Girl Scouts are proudly sporting new METRORail safety patches in neighborhoods across the Houston area. 

According to officials, the 'Think Rail' patch program is just one part of METRO's ongoing safety initiatives.

The awareness program is an interactive venue for girls to learn about safety, one of the most important goals of Girl Scouting

METRORail  said nearly 50 area troop in neighborhoods from Northside to the East End, Cypress to Pearland and beyond received patches. 

The program has reached more than 32,000 students in schools along the light-rail lines since 2013.
