HOUSTON – A woman was hurt after a house fire broke out early Thursday morning in the Montrose area.
Houston firefighters said the fire broke out on West Saulnier near Stanford about 3:45 a.m.
The fire spread to a duplex next door before firefighters were able to get it under control.
Firefighters had to pull a second alarm to get more manpower to the scene, who managed to keep the fire from spreading to a third home.
Everyone managed to get out of the homes, but a woman suffered burns on her hand and forehead. Firefighters said smoke detectors alerted the residents to the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
