House damaged by fire in northesast Houston

Firefighters believe fire started by electrical short

HOUSTON –  Everyone is safe after a fire broke out in a northeast Houston home.

Firefighters said the fire started around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the kitchen of a house on Kirk and Stamp Street.

Crews were able to put the flames out before the fire spread to the rest of the house.

Investigators said a malfunctioning stove top caused the fire to start.
