HOUSTON -

Showers and thunderstorms Monday afternoon will not continue into Monday evening. Expect a few isolated very light showers Monday evening, with most areas remaining muggy but rain-free. Evening temperatures will hover in the 80s with overnight low temperatures falling to the mid-70s.

The current pattern of unsettled afternoon weather will continue for the remainder of this week. Abundant Gulf of Mexico moisture will flow into Texas on the heels of a south wind. That, in combination with weak upper-atmospheric disturbances that will swing through the state through the weekend, will keep the atmosphere unstable enough to produce scattered afternoon showers and storms through Sunday.

The very high humidity and scattered afternoon rain will keep afternoon temperatures hovering from 88 to 90 degrees each afternoon. Morning lows will continue in the mid 70s.
