Homeowner shoots suspected burglar, narrowly misses neighbor

HOUSTON – A homeowner in northwest Harris County shot a suspected burglar early Thursday morning.

The shooting happened on typically quiet Sweet Grass Trail near Rolling Creek Drive in northwest Harris County

Precinct 4 Constables said a man was trying to break into the home when the resident heard the commotion and confronted the suspect. Seconds later, investigators said the homeowner fired his gun and shot the suspect.

Detectives said the shooting caused such a scare for neighbors in the area, a 14-year-old girl who lives behind the home that was targeted by the suspect had to be rushed to a local hospital to be checked out.

Meanwhile, deputy constables showed up within minutes and found the suspect, Guillermo Andrade on the ground with at least one bullet wound. He was arrested and taken to Northwest Medical Center for his injuries.
