Homeowner shoots husband after wife crashes into house

HOUSTON – Homicide detectives were on the scene of a deadly shooting Sunday morning.

Investigators said the victim had gotten into an argument with his wife shortly before the shooting.

The wife drove off in a car, which she then crashed into a nearby home on South Gessner Road near Stroud Drive.

Police said the owner of that home walked outside to try and assist the woman after the crash.

Shortly after, the woman's husband, who had noticed what happened, began running toward the pair.

Investigators said the homeowner shouted at the man multiple times to get him to stop.

When the husband continued to rush at them, the homeowner said he feared for his life. He pulled out his gun and shot the man.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

It was unclear Sunday morning whether any charges would be filed.
