Home invaders threaten to kill North Harris County family

Door-to-door manhunt as deputies search for 5 suspects

HOUSTON – Deputies are searching for suspects they said robbed and threatened a family in north Harris County.

Just after 2 a.m. Friday morning, police said the robbers forced their way into a home in the Silver Glen Subdivision.

They not only took the family's belongings, but threatened to kill them.

"He saw me, and turned around and put the gun to my head and dropped me on the floor," homeowner Neftali Moreiria said. "He said if I move he would kill me right there, on the spot."

Moreiria said the men stayed in the home at least 15 minutes gathering jewelry, money and other items before driving off in a stolen truck.

According to investigators, a deputy tried to initiate a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and the suspects ended up bailing from the truck.

One person was taken into custody, but four others are still on the run.

Deputies said inside truck they found some of the items that had been reported stolen from the family, as well as two guns.

Anyone with information about this home invasion is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
