Grocery, retail store hours on Thanksgiving Day

HOUSTON – Plenty of stores are opening on Thanksgiving Day for shoppers who need a last-minute ingredient for dinner or a bottle of wine. Some retailers are starting Black Friday early.

Most of the major grocery stores open at 6 a.m. Thursday. However, Aldi will be closed on turkey day. HEB closes at 2 p.m. while Randalls and Kroger closes at 4 p.m.

For those looking to get a jump on Christmas shopping, J.C. Penny opens at 3 p.m. and Old Navy opens at 4 p.m.

Target, Sears, Kohl’s and Michael's all open at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Walmart will still be open 24 hours but the door buster deals start at 6 p.m.
