HOUSTON -

A high-speed crash in North Houston killed a man early Wednesday morning.

According to Houston police, the driver was speeding in his SUV when he hit a curb on the North Loop East feeder road near the North Freeway around 2:15 a.m.

Officials said the driver overcompensated and his SUV started rolling.

Investigators said the 43-year-old man was not wearing a seat belt and he was tossed from his vehicle.

The man died at the scene.

Police believe alcohol played a role in the crash.

The man's name was not immediately released.
