HOUSTON – Motorists were experiencing trouble this morning due to reports of high water in the Houston area.
Houston firefighters were called to the East Loop North near the Ship Channel to help a woman whose vehicle stalled in the water, and police were setting up barricades at certain points to prevent further problems.

There were more reports of high water around town.
Houston Transtar reported high water in the HOV lane of the Gulf Freeway at Lockwood, and another spot was reported on the Gulf Freeway at Tellepsen.
The entire HOT/HOV lane of the Gulf Freeway was remaining closed through the morning due to continuing rain and high water.
