High-speed chase ends in rollover crash

Local 2 viewer captures end of chase with cell phone

ROSENBERG, Texas – A police chase through Fort Bend County and the rollover that ended the chase was all caught on camera.

A Local 2 viewer caught the tail-end of the chase on their cell phone. The chase started Saturday morning when a Richmond police officer tried to pull over a man that had two felony warrants.

Instead of pulling over, the driver took off, leading police on a high-speed chase through Fort Bend, Wharton and Austin Counties.

The man eventually crashed his SUV in Rosenberg after losing control.

Investigators said the suspect tried to run after crashing the SUV, but was apprehended by a Richmond police officer.

Richmond police said the suspect is believed to be on some unknown type of narcotics. During the investigation after the crash, it was discovered that the man had just stolen two bicycles from a Walmart in Sealy, Texas.

The man's name has yet to be released.
