The driver refused to stop, which led police on a short chase that ended near the intersection of west Troy and Yale, where he was trapped by police, officials said. The man jumped out of his vehicle and fled on foot and was later caught, police said.

After the man was arrested police found heroin and methamphetamine in his car, which is why police assumed he ran, police said.

He faces felony evading charges and possession of controlled substance.
