HOUSTON - There will be a trial to decide if Houston's newly signed equal rights ordinance should have been put int front of voters.
The so-called HERO ordinance was signed last month.
A lawsuit filed earlier this month after the petition to repeal the ordinance was rejected by the city Monday.
City officials say the petition signatures weren't valid. Now, the ordinance's future will be left to a judge.
