A elderly man who went missing early Tuesday morning from the Richmond area was found safe in Central Texas.

Officials cancelled the Silver Alert for 81-year-old Kenneth Panton Wednesday afternoon after he was found in a store in Liberty Hill, a town northwest of Georgetown in Williamson County.

Panton has Parkinson’s Disease and was last seen by his wife at about 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of Winston Homestead in the Pecan Grove subdivision.

Authorities said Pantondrove his family’s vehicle to Liberty Hill. Family members said he is not accustomed to driving.

Officials said Panton was being examined by emergency personnel, but appeared to be OK.
