WASHINGTON -

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for help as they investigate a man suspected of sexually exploiting a child.

Authorities say the person of interest, known only as John Doe 28, is seen in images and video engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child. These images were first recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in November of 2012, according to the FBI.

Investigators for the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have successfully enhanced images of John Doe 28 and believe they contain several clues to assist in identifying him.

The FBI says the video depicts the man and a victim inside a residence with what appears to be a blue sofa chair and a picture hanging on a wall in the background. The man is also seen wearing wire-framed glasses and a burgundy t-shirt with what appears to be a shark logo on his left side.

Investigators say there are no specific details linking the suspect to a particular state or region of the United States.

Authorities believe the man is in his 30s or 40s, has a receding hairline and wears wire-framed glasses.
