HARRIS COUNTY -

Four robbers are on the loose after a holdup and shooting in northeast Harris County, deputies said.

Just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, deputies said they were called to the Silver Bell Grocery on Northpost Street and East Mount Houston.

When they arrived, deputies said they found two store employees shaken and a man shot.

Investigators said four robbers pulled a pickup truck behind a Nissan Altima in the parking lot as those employees were leaving work.

The robbers held the the store manager and employee at gunpoint and took their belongings including cellphones, wallets, cash and watches, according to HCSO.

Deputies said three of the four robbers got back into the truck, while the fourth tried to carjack the victims.

For some reason, the robber could not get the car moving according to the victims.  He jumped out of Nissan and into the getaway pickup.

As the pickup was driving away, deputies said it drove past several people standing in front of a home.

They said the culprit who tried to carjack the robbery victims started shooting at the men.

Investigators said the bullets hit one man in the buttocks and ankle.  He was rushed to LBJ Hospital in stable condition.  Deputies said it was unclear why the robber fired on the group.

They said all four robbers got away.
