HCSO: Possible road rage sends man to hospital

Man listed in stable condition after being shot in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man was taken to the hospital after being shot while driving in his car in northwest Harris County.

The incident happened after 8:30 p.m. Friday at Antoine Drive and Highway 249.

Witnesses told investigators two cars -- described as a white Camaro and an orange car with two people inside -- were driving northbound on Antoine Drive.

At one point the orange car pulled up next to the white car. The passenger in the orange car fired several rounds into the other vehicle. The driver of the white car was struck in the face.

After the man was shot he crashed his car a few blocks down, got out and ran for help.

The man was listed in stable condition at Ben Taub Hospital. He is unable to speak, so investigators couldn't question him about what happened. They don't know what led to the shooting.

Investigators believe it was some kind of road rage that led to the shooting, but they don't have details.

Police are now searching for the orange car involved in the incident.

Anyone who may have seen the incident is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
