The vehicle rolled over and caught fire, killing the driver.

That same day at approximately 10 p.m., Omar Lopez was driving a 1995 Lincoln Town Car southbound in the 2200 block of Sheldon Road when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a utility pole. Lopez was ejected from the car and died at the scene.

Later that night, HCSO deputies were dispatched to another major car accident. This time in the 29000 block of FM 2920. The truck’s driver, Adam Zepeda, was attempting to pass a vehicle when he fatally hit the pedestrian.

Toxicology results are pending in all three of these accidents.

Other agencies that took part in the traffic initiative to crack down on drunken drivers included the Baytown, Pasadena, La Porte, Jersey Village, Tomball, Galena Park, Bellaire, and Jacinto City police departments, and all eight Constable Precinct Offices.
