HCSO: Mom fatally shoots son during argument

HOUSTON – A mother shot her 19-year-old son during an argument at a home in northeast Harris County on Monday, investigators said.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the shooting happened in the 5000 block of Sandydale Lane near Blue Haven Court about 9:30 a.m.

Investigators said Nesha Kradieh told them that her son, Phillip Vanshawn Apostolo, pushed her during an argument.

The mother and son got into a second argument a short time later, and Kradieh shot Apostolo, detectives said.

Kradieh, 45, called 911 after the shooting and claimed it was accidental, deputies said. Detectives said they found that Kradieh shot her son in the head while he was sitting on a couch.

Apostolo was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died, investigators said.

Deputies have not said what the mother and son argued about.

Kradieh will face a murder charge, detectives said.

Neighbors said they had heard Kradieh and Apostolo argue often recently.
