HOUSTON - A man has been accused of videotaping his co-workers while they were in the restroom.
Isaac Gutierrez, 53, has been charged with two counts of improper photography/visual recording.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said Gutierrez set up an iPod with a video camera and hid it in a ceiling air vent in a women's restroom at Mogas Industries in the 14300 block of East Hardy.
Detectives said one of the employees noticed the camera. She and another employee had been recorded, investigators said.
Prosecutors said it was simple to trace the iPod to Gutierrez because when he put the device in the ceiling, he photographed himself.
The charge is a state jail felony. Prosecutors said they are seeing more and more cases of it.
"As technology increases and cameras and recording devices get smaller and smaller, it really does create an opportunity to get photographs and video illicitly," Assistant Harris County District Attorney Donna Hawkins said.
Gutierrez has been released from the Harris County Jail after posting $4,000 bond.
