Investigators said a man has confessed to killing his neighbor and is now charged with her murder.
The murder and now arrest has stunned the community in northeast Harris County.
Authorities said Ryan Jusop Simon, 33, confessed to killing his neighbor, 57-year-old Gricelda Garcia-Munoz back in April.
Officials said the suspect and the victim were neighbors for 20 years.
According to authorities, Munoz was found stabbed to death in her home in the 200 block of Castle Way Lane on April 18.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said Simon was interviewed during the initial scene investigation and was eventually linked to the crime by DNA evidence.
Officials said Simon was arrested Thursday afternoon. He was transported to the sheriff’s office Homicide Unit where he confessed to the murder.
